How to Plan a Live Edge Wood Table Layout
Avoid expensive mistakes by plotting out the dimensions and leg placements for your live edge slab before you cut.
Measure Twice, Cut Once
A high-quality Suar or Walnut live edge slab can cost thousands of Ringgit. If you attach the legs too far inward or miscalculate the overhang, the table could tip over or be uncomfortable to sit at.
The Wood Layout Grid
Use Tuko's Wood Layout mode to visualize the final product:
- Enter the exact dimensions of your raw slab (e.g., 2000mm x 900mm).
- Drag and drop hardware presets (like hairpin legs or steel U-legs) onto the grid.
- Use the dimension markers to ensure there is exactly 300mm to 400mm of overhang at the ends for comfortable seating.
- Export the plan to share with your carpenter or to guide your own drilling.
