How to make an IC soft copy as PDF
- Add a clear photo of the front of your IC.
- Add the back image if the recipient requires both sides.
- Rotate either image if it is sideways.
- Choose one A4 page or separate pages.
- Add a verification watermark or cross/mark the copy if the recipient accepts marked copies.
- Create and download the PDF.
Treat identity documents as sensitive
Only share an IC copy when it is genuinely required. Consider adding a purpose-specific watermark and avoid sending an unrestricted copy when a recipient accepts a marked version. A cross or watermark can discourage casual reuse, but it does not make an identity copy impossible to misuse.
IC / MyKad to PDF FAQs
Common questions about using our IC / MyKad to PDF tool.
Does Tuko upload my IC or MyKad images?
No. The images are processed locally in your browser to create the PDF. Tuko does not need to upload your IC images to a server.
Can I put the front and back of my IC on one PDF page?
Yes. Choose the one-page A4 layout to place the front and back images on a single page. You can also choose separate pages if a portal requires that format.
Can I take the IC photos directly from my phone camera?
Yes. On supported mobile browsers, use the camera button for the front and back images. You can also choose existing photos from your device.
Can I add a verification watermark?
Yes. You can optionally add a custom watermark such as 'For verification only' before creating the PDF.
Can I cross or mark an IC copy?
Yes. Tuko can add two diagonal cross lines plus purpose text over the IC image. Use a marked copy only when the recipient accepts it; some processes may require an unmarked copy.
